[Log] In my time of dying...
Who: Kara and Aries Kiran
Verse: PSL - BBC Merlin + Saint Seiya
What: Kara found herself in another land, one that was not certainly Camelot. Little does she know she ended up in another era too.
Warnings: Nope!
She was having trouble breathing. Gasping for air had become a task for her. There was no rope tied around her neck anymore so her condition was not linked with it.
It was cold, surrounded by snow everywhere and a dense fog hiding a possible trail to get out, albeit she could tell it was a mountainous place for as her feet felt the rock. Kara brought her palms to her face, slight tears that expressed her sadness with her body curled in despair.
What a way to suffer another death(?) of which effects were similar to the previous one.

Even far less was any reason for a non-Saint to appear within the environs of Jamir. The person's presence was weaker than that of a Saint and he can sense it wavering. Whether or not they came here intentionally or was sent here, he knew, at the least, that he must try to help.
He appeared by the figure's side, a warm wool-lined cloak in hand. He quickly wrapped it about their shoulders, and with only a murmur of, "I'll take care of you. Hang in there." he flicks them both out of the snow, and back into the Jamir tower.
The next thing that the young lady will feel is the gradually seeping warmth, the absence of harsh mountain winds, and the softness of a mattress underneath her. She will feel hands checking for her temperature on her forehead, neck and wrist. "Miss? Hey, miss, are you alright? Can you hear me?"
no subject
In a blink, she felt no more cold but only heat, and the welcome of said surface was satisfying she took her time to enjoy it. Kiran's hands, however, didn't go unnoticed and the brief resting was set aside as she regained a little of strength she had, leaning on her elbows.
Kara stared at him with eyes wide open: hair as red as the colors of fire, mild pale skin, violet eyes that were uncommon where she came from in comparison to her own bright blue ones... and those dots on his forehead instead of brows. "Who are you?" She seemed frightened, and the one thing she could do was to look everywhere. He will notice a reddish mark around her neck, the signs of hanging. "W-What is this place?"
no subject
He set aside his ponderings for the time-being to focus on her instead. He was relieved that at the least, she was conscious and lucid. "My name's Kiran. And you're in the Tower of Jamir, in the Himalayas."
He didn't mind her questions in the least. The more they spoke, the better, to keep her aware and awake. He was calm and yet alert to what his 'guest' might be needing. "How are you feeling? Are you thirsty?"
no subject
She shifted backwards on the bed. "I never heard of those places." Her tone was filled with defiance. Was she able to trust him? Was he someone who could get some sort of gain from her gifts? Take advantage of her? He mentioned a tower-- a warlord, perhaps?
"I feel dizzy..." she replied quietly, rubbing at her arm with a palm. "... And tired." Kara regarded him with interest. He looked friendly, though it could be a facade.
no subject
Kiran fixed the covers about her. If she was the type to feel spiritual presences or power, then quite a lot of it was swirling quietly in around the tower -- quiet, subtle, but potent. It was otherwise inoffensive, but more warm and even welcoming.
"I'll get you something warm to drink, then you can rest." Before he turned to head down however -- "Are you hurt anywhere, by the way?"
no subject
Warm... and welcoming. She... kinda liked it. Like...
Her attention went to him, blank. “My leg received treatment but the pain is little. My neck, it... hurts.“ The recall of it snapping, then... nothing. Kara pressed her lips, trying not to cry, not even a hint of it anymore.
She had to remain strong.
no subject
Kiran then took to kneeling beside the mattress, and politely refrained from commenting over the emotions that surfaced on the young lady's face. "You have marks, right here --" he took to pointing with his fingers on his own neck. "I'm a healer and I can fix that for you, if you don't mind."
He knew, at least, that he had to try to help. He can tell what those marks meant and thought that she was at least lucky to have come out alive after that kind of ordeal.
no subject
Kara looked at him intensely. Many questions came to mind but the most prominent: why? Memory took her back to that interrogation with Arthur Pendragon.
‘A stranger came across me and he helped me. I have no idea who it was...‘
Never thought a little lie could become real now. Never expected kindness from strangers. “I don‘t.“ Her voice had softened and her lips formed a tiny smile.
See? An improvement.
no subject
He returned her gaze, and gave her a reassuring smile. "I won't hurt anymore, I promise. Just relax and stay still, okay?" With one hand on her back, Kiran raised his hand by her neck -- not touching, just hovering -- which shortly started to glow with a soft golden light.
Gradually, she should feel a pleasant kind of warmth seep through her skin, concentrated by her neck and yet spreading an overall sensation of comfort through her body as the power pries away at the sources of discomfort and pain -- even her leg might even feel a whole lot better.
As Kiran finished up and the light started to fade, he asked, "What's your name?"
no subject
The Druid girl did as asked, confused first at what he was going to do but gently closed her eyes. The “magic“ (because there was no other name to call it for) had removed the pain from her bones, her muscles and her skin considerably, replacing it with a warmth inside her heart and body and giving a peace of mind.
When it was over, Kara sighed and opened her eyes to him in brief shock. About to say something-- “My name is... Kara.“
A hand checked on her neck. “Are you a sorcerer?“
*IT won't hurt anymore gd typos '''OTL
"It's good to meet you, Kara -- circumstances aside, that is." And despite said circumstances, he managed to maintain a friendly smile -- which eventually turned amused with her question. 'Sorcerer', huh~
He shook his head. "No-- I'm a Saint of Athena." He then gave her a questioning look. "Why a 'sorcerer' though?" -- and not a 'magician' or 'those weirdos with ESP and stuff'.
you know, it changes the whole context of the sentence /SHOT
She gave him a sheepish smile "Circumstances aside, yes.", folding her legs underneath the covers and wrapping them with her arms.
"Saint of Athena... What does it mean?" brows furrowed at the unknown rank and name. Then, she answered to his question. "Magic is a natural force special people are born with. Albion, the land where I come from, is surrounded by it."
ahaha~ '''orz not sure if Kiran even wants to go there yet.
Organizing his thoughts, he figured he should answer her questions first -- Albion wasn't a place he has heard of, and as far as the knowledge he was privy to was concerned, Sanctuary and Asgard held even the most arcane of knowledge. 'Albion' rings a bell, however -- he might have heard a word that sounds like it, or probably read it in the old, old archives...
"Well-- Athena's a goddess. She's one for wisdom, craft and heroic endeavor. So we're people trained to carry out what she stands for and..." He gave a sheepish bit of smile, "save the world in the process."
Suddenly, Kiran remembered what he had meant to do-- "Aa! I said I'll be getting you something. Just-- make yourself comfy, okay? Stay here, I'll be right back!" Without further ado, Kiran headed down in the kitchens -- that is, he disappeared like a ghost from the room. While he might not be seen, his presence could still be felt from nearby. Shortly, he will appear again, tray of hot tea, bowl of soup and flat bread. "I don't know if you're hungry..."
who knows? someday we'll know...
A goddess of wisdom, craft and heroic endeavor... probably an order of warriors who followed her command from another lands far away from Albion. Not even had she gone beyond the Northern Plains to know what other places were able to offer shelter for her people.
Before she could utter a 'thank you' to him-- her eyes went wide and let out a gasp at his instant disappearance. No magic, he said, but then-- it was a unsettling power that made her own look like nothing. When Kiran was back, Kara remained silent for a moment and unfolded her legs, straightening.
She looked at the food and smiled. "You are too kind." and the smile faded "My people wouldn't be treated like this at all."
"Your goddess must be kind-hearted to accept someone as yourself." glancing up at him. She didn't mean to sound rude or heartless, only nostalgic.
oh my~
He then took to folding his legs under him, settling himself beside the bed. He looked a little surprised over the remark, then puzzled. "Athena has a big heart, and she loves everyone. It pleases her when people can do things to the best of their abilities."
He rubs at the back of his head. "I think it's just normal to help out, but --" but there was something about what she said. "Why would you be treated otherwise?" Because as far as he could see, Kara wasn't an evil person.
B3
‘Athena has a big heart, and she loves everyone...‘ She gazed down as in thought. It was inspiring to think a goddess like her existed -- that young men like Kiran were able to fight and to protect in her name. The Triple Goddess had the High Priestesses and the Disir who served her, though their main purpose was to spread her word and bring the balance of magic.
Kara pressed her lips together, placing half of the bread back on its plate. Was there evil in threatening the lives of those who persecuted her kind and trying to kill the King whose father condemned magic as an... evil practice? She hesitated before answering -- "I am a Druid.", pulling up the long sleeve where a triskele tattoo is located in her right inner wrist. "My people have been hunted down and slaughtered because of who they are."
>///>a (also /patpats)
"A druid, is it?" Kiran turned an observant gaze at Kara's tattoo, but made no move to touch her. It was not in his field of study, but he knew he has heard of the kinds of powerful people around the world -- priests, priestesses, monks, oracles, and of course, druids.
He then looks to her face, her eyes. "Why would anyone do that? It's not like druids are known to do evil magic. I mean, I haven't met druids -- you'd be the first -- but what I know about them is that they commune with nature, mostly trees, right?"
one day you'll know and you'll *like* it |3~ /pets Kiki (lol who am I kidding?)
Kara tried to hold in her frustration. She feared that probably Mordred would have been hanged as well -- or worse, burned at the stake. Thinking about the destiny of her kind, if Morgana would free them as she had vowed in the name of the Triple Goddess.
Her hand reaches his, faltering, placed gently on its back. Hardly, Kara was able to show kindness on her part, but Kiran saved her and she feels grateful to him. "Arthur must never find you. He will execute you as he did with the druids, sorcerers and High Priestesses of the Old Religion." He has proven to be powerful.
Still... the doubt remained.
someday~ ♪
For a long moment, Kiran studied Kara's face -- looking for traces of a farce, of insincerity. But truly, what would a girl about to die have anything to gain by telling him tall tales? He hadn't even asked where she was from and yet her story said more than a formal account can.
"I-- I don't think I have to worry about that." How to say? How to tell this girl that she might just be far away from her home -- from her own time, even? "It's been a long time since any king has been called Arthur."
lalala~
Kiran was no enemy to her people. He was not related to that dreadful kingdom. The hand still remained on his, by the way.
Looking away from his staring, she raised her chin as in pride. But the last bit had her attention caught "What do you mean?" They were in another land he is quite familiar with, for certain, though she felt a tightness on her chest for the meaning behind his words, feeling a knot in her throat which hindered her voice -- "Why am I here?"
no subject
The words sounded simple to him, but he can feel the weight of what they mean behind them. He hated to be the bearer of what may upset another person, but he would rather be honest and tell the truth.
no subject
It would be rude of her not taking into consideration the attentiveness that Kiran had given her. She began to eat in silence, there was no use for more questions when the answers were simple and hurtful.
no subject
"I'll leave you for a moment, if you wish." He both understood the need for privacy, or in the other hand, the need for company, in the face of upsetting news, which is why he left her with the choice. He moved to stand from his sitting position. "I'll just head downstairs. Call for me if you need me."
no subject
Kara paused of a sudden, looking up at him with eyes widened in dread. She dared not ask him to stay if he had to go, but she was afraid of being alone again. "H-How can I?", head turning to both sides "There are no doors, only small windows."
This place was strange in appearance as it felt in spiritual presence.
no subject
"You can simply call or--" it was a stranger method for those not accustomed to it. "think of me."
Saying that out loud made his face color a bit, and he felt bad, seeing how Kara's face turned for the sad. He rubbed mildly at the back of his head. "Well-- I can stay too, if you like! I just thought you might need some time on your own, sorting these thoughts out. What I told you isn't good news, after all. To be honest, I'd rather stay and watch over you, but that's not for me to say because you're my guest."
B3
"Ah--" The only sound coming out of her after. Face down while listening to him, Kara was able to find the courage to answer. "Then, please... stay." Green eyes on Kiran, even her voice felt weak at the last word.
Not the person she used to be in front of a stranger. Not a sign of vulnerability in her before this.
83?
"As my guest wishes." Said with a degree of levity. "To be honest, it gets too quiet here sometimes, so, well, circumstances aside, I'm glad to have someone over."
He gave her a quick lookover. "How are you feeling?"
939~ ♪
"You must feel alone," Lots of sympathy might be perceived in her voice. Suddenly, a light, kind of laughter left her at the thought of him being in another way she anticipated. "But you seem merry, or that is the impression I have from you."
Him asking for her state, she mended on her manners, looked away from the tray to Kiran. "I feel much better. Only tired."
|D ~ ♪
"I do, sometimes. Well, I go down to the villages at the foot of the mountain for provisions. Then I go to Athena's Sanctuary where I do most of my work. It's nice to have peace and quiet, but it gets too quiet too, you know?"
He then smiled a little mischievously.
"This place isn't meant to be found by those not of Athena's Sanctuary, after all. It's a sanctuary in itself for study, work, and healing, and in times of war, a fortress."
Then a bit of sheepish chuckling.
"I'm not wearing you out with all my talking, am I?"
/dances
Swallowing, hand down -- "You are not, no."
Albeit, her expression offered a more wistful sight. "Maybe it will not get too quiet anymore." She looked away in silent hope. "I may not be of much help, but I can ease your work a little, if you let me..."
Alas, what were you thinking by asking something such as this, Kara?
/sings so you can dance
At her remark though, his expression shifted to that of curiousness, studying her face, gauging what those words meant. "Ah-- you wish to stay here?"
He then looked pensive, crossing an arm over his chest to prop his other arm against it, curling a finger under his chin, thinking out loud. "Well... I can't send you away just like that; I'm not too sure how you'd fare in the mountain villages; Rodorio though..."
Then realizing what he might be communicating, Kiran backpedaled. "Aa--! Not that I don't want you around, it's just that Jamir isn't the friendliest of places! It's always cold, the air's dry and thin and I don't know if you'd like that in the long run..."
The least Kiran can say is that he tried.
what are you singing?
Gaze down, her voice became sharp but polite. "If possible, I would like to leave tomorrow. If you know a place, I'll go there." A final word(?) before resuming on her meal.
Where could she go from there? One way or another, Kara always found out how to survive on her own.
TLC's Unpretty :P
He looked apologetic, briefly looking to the side and down. He nodded. "Mm. I can do that."
He then tried to be hopeful. "There's a benefit to staying in Rodorio -- it's under the care of Sanctuary. It'll be like you're under Athena's care too.I work there, too! So, I'll get to see you often! And if there's anyone who can do most anything for you, it's Athena."
Kiran hadn't mentioned it, but he did note that Kara had called out to a certain 'Mordred'. He wanted to ask, but he felt like he should wait. They just met, after all.
